The just concluded general elections have seen several young men and women ascend to elective seats in National Assembly and Senate. These youths have proven that, every dream is valid, and it’s possible to actualize it regardless of age or background. They have demonstrated that indeed youths are leaders of today and not tomorrow.
Below is a list of some of the youths elected to national assembly and senate.
- Peninnah John Methu – Senator Nyandarua County, 31 years
Peninnah John Methu, 31 years, won the Nyandarua senatorial seat on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket, beating the incumbent Mwangi Githiomi with a landslide. The young politician is a graduate of Political Science from the University of Nairobi. He is a father and a philanthropist. Following his election, he has become very endeared to the President and other influential politicians in the country.

Recently, he accompanied Senate Speaker Amason Kingi to Angola where they represented the President Dr. William Ruto at the inauguration ceremony of President João Lourenço.
- Allan Chesang – Senator Trans Nzoia County, 35 years
The young, handsome and flamboyant businessman Allan Chesang clinched the Trans Nzoia senatorial seat on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket. He holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce degree from Moi University, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Political Science at the University of Nairobi.

Allan Chesang owns several businesses, including but not limited to, ten night clubs, a clearing and forwarding company called Uplift Express, one company for purifying water, and another one dealing in Liquefied Petroleum Gas. He has also been running a series of philanthropy activities in Trans Nzoia County through his non-profit Allan Chesang Foundation. The self-declared “kitinda” of Trans Nzoia politics has been giving Kenyan women sleepless nights with his dashing handsomeness and flashy lifestyle.
- Cynthia Muge, Women Rep Nandi County, 29 years
Cynthia Muge was first elected as a Member of County Assembly for Kilibwoni Ward in 2017 at the age of 24. In 2022, she won the election of Women Representative at the age of 29, on UDA Party ticket.

Cynthia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the prestigious University of Nairobi.
- Jane Njeri Maina, Women Rep Kirinyaga County, 28 years
The 28-yeard old Njeri Maina trounced political heavyweights in the hotly contested Kirinyaga county women rep seat, clinching it on UDA Party ticket.

Njeri holds a Bachelors of Law degree from the University of Nairobi and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She is a true definition of beauty with brains.
- Linet Jepkorir Toto, Women Rep Bomet County, 24 years
The 24-year old Linet Jepkorir aka Toto hit the record by becoming the youngest ever Woman Rep to be elected in Kenya’s history. She has been trending on social media since winning the UDA Party nominations. Thereafter, she clinched the Women Rep seat with a landslide. Toto inspires many young people in the country who have dubbed her as the real definition of UDA Party’s bottom-up ideology. She has defied the odds and proven that all dreams are valid, despite one’s background or age.

Toto holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Chuka University.
- Peter Kalerwa Salasya, MP, Mumias East, 32 years
The 32- year old self-declared Wanga trustee, Peter Salasya was elected as Mumias East MP on Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-Kenya) ticket.

He’s attracted a lot of attention particularly from the female gender due to his light-skin complexion and the money, power and fame that comes with his new position.
- Josses Lelmengit, MP, Emgwen Constituency, 28 years

Josses Lelmengit has hit the records by winning Emgwen Consituency seat at just the age of 28 years. Lelmengit is a civil engineer by profession. He won the seat on UDA Party ticket.
- Caleb Amisi, MP Saboti, 34 years

The 34-year old politician, popularly known as “kijana power” defended his seat on the ODM Party ticket.
