
President William Ruto is set to give his maiden speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City later today at around 9PM East African Standard Time. This will be his first such outing as president and he is keen to use the opportunity to assure the international community of his good intentions for the Kenyan people and that their interests ( international community) are in good hands.
President Ruto has called for increased commercial cooperation between kenya and the US. He promised a conducive and enabling business environment as his administration seeks to spur domestic and foreign direct investments which will in turn help create more wealth and jobs. HE Ruto said this as he met members of the US Chamber of Commerce on trade & investment

The president has been accompanied by his trusted lieutenants among them Kiharu MP Hon Ndindi Nyoro, Alfred Mutua, the former Machakos county boss, Kipchumba Murkomen the Elgeyo Marakwet senator and Ababu Namwamba who served as the foreign affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the outgoing Jubilee government and he is seen to be well positioned for the Foreign Affairs docket in the Kenya Kwanza government.

Others include Hussein Mohammed, the communications guru who played a big role in the runup to his election and David Ndii the Kenya Kwanza coalition financial policy advisor.
