Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino took to Social media to air out his frustrations over what he termed as a betrayal. He posted, “ODM party, so many youths and myself sacrificed a lot and used our resources in the party over the years, our pay is betrayal and blackmail . It is OK. Tomorrow is another day.”

Hon Babu was supported by Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina who replied “It’s about time we demand what is ours. Enough of always being kept in harms way while others chill in their cribs and are rewarded with the lion share of party positions.”

Senator Ledama then added on another tweet ” Let’s have a drink comrade Babu Owino and decide our future …” to which Babu Owino replied to the affirmative.

This comes at the aftermath of  the parties sharing out parliamentary positions in both houses. Ledama Ole Kina missed out on the positions in the senate and Babu Owino too seems disgruntled by the distribution of parliamentary committee  positions.

There has been discontent in the orange party but it is now coming to the public, with many parliamentarians not happy with how the party rewarded its members in the houses. It remains to be seen how the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will stem this rebellion from his foremost lieutenants.

Both Ledama Ole Kina and Babu Owino were instrumental in Raila Odinga’s past two stabs at the presidency with them accompanying Mr Odinga in many of his tours around the country as they sold his presidential bid. Hon Babu and Hon Ole Kina were also subjected to attacks from the  former Prime Minister’s opponents as they also attacked their party leader’s enemies. But they now feel shortchanged, will they opt out of the ODM?
