Bomet county women MP Linet Jepkorir popularly known as Toto has heaped praises on her bodaboda rider who helped her during the campaign period by moving her round the county.
The 24 year old MP while addressing the National Assembly, gave a glowing tribute to Gideon Cheruiyot whom she was very grateful for as he had contributed greatly to his win in the August 9th election. Toto says that despite her young age, the bodaboda rider had faith in her and took the initiative to help her traverse the expansive county.
“Allow me to mention one person by the name of Gideon Cheruyiot. When I declared my ambition, he came to my home and asked me whether I was serious about my candidature,” she stated.
Mr Cheruiyot, according to the legistlator, when he got news that Toto wa running for the Women Mp position went to her home to enquire if indeed he was serious about the bid. When the answer was to the affirmative, he took it upon himself to fuel the motorbike and offered the much needed transport services. All these, he did without any pay.
“He then decided to assist me with his bodaboda. He fueled it with his own money and took me to the field in the morning and back home in the evening. Gideon, wherever you are, may God bless you,” she stated.
It was after she came to the limelight by beating veteran politicians to clinch the UDA ticket. subsequently, other politicians came to her aid giving her cars and material help but she gave the biggest accolades to Mr cheruiyot whom she claims believed in her dreams even as they seemed far fetched.
