No Senator Byelections In Bungoma If Waluke is not Released, Says Bumula MP

Bumula constituency member of parliament Jack Wamboka has declared that there will be no byelections in Bungoma county for the senate seat if  embattled Sirisia constituency MP John Waluke will not be released.

The parliamentarian said this when he addressed the press at parliament buildings decrying the selective application of the law. Mr Wamboka pointed out how corruption and other cases involving high profile individuals are being acquitted while Waluke is put behind bars.

” We are very sad as the Mulembe nation on how things are going on, Samburu Governor has been released, Waititu acquitted, Ben Chumo of KPLC  accused of  stealing 400 million acquitted… and many others have had their cases dropped including those who were fingered in the Arror And Kimwarer dams scandal. Why jail Waluke for 67 years?” The legislator pondered.

The Bumula MP  who won his seat on a DAP-K seat, went on to question the amount imposed as a fine on Hon Waluke. The Sirisia MP had been fined 1 billion by the magistrate court, a judgement that was upheld by the high court. Mr Wamboka who was flanked by Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya inferred that the charges were politically motivated and Hon Waluke was being unfairly targeted.

” If John Koyi Waluke will not be released by the time IEBC calls for the byelection, there will be no elections in Bungoma. IEBC will just be wasting their time… we shall start using every means at our disposal to ensure this as people from Bungoma.” Declared Hon Wamboka.

The Bungoma senate seat had fallen vacant after Hon Moses Wetangula was elected speaker of the National Assembly. IEBC had announced that the by elections will be held on 8th December later this year.
