Miguna Miguna, the Canada-based lawyer was ecstatic that Red alerts which had been imposed by the president Uhuru Kenyatta administration have been lifted.
Miguna took to social media to announce the new developments which will pave way for his return into the country. He stated that the restrictions that had prevented his return to the country for a long time were imposed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.
The outspoken lawyer thanked President William Ruto’s administration for lifting the restrictions that had barred any airline from landing in Kenya with Miguna on board. Miguna also announced that he will be landing in kenya on 20th October at 6 AM.
“The Government of @WilliamsRuto and @rigathi has LIFTED the Red Alerts despot Uhuru Kenyatta and his GOONS ILLEGALLY imposed against me with the CONNIVANCE of conman @RailaOdinga. My Arrival: October 20 at 6 AM. The Rule of Law, fearlessness, persistence and focus have prevailed.” He wrote on Twitter
Miguna who has been living in exile since his deportation, will set foot in Kenya for the first time in five years. He was deported to Canada after the divisive 2017 election which culminated in the swearing in of Raila Odinga as the people’s president.
Miguna Miguna had been constantly pushing the previous administration to lift the red alerts, to no fruition. However, Karanja Kibicho who was the Interior PS denied any involvement in the hitches that affected Miguna’s travel. Dr Kibicho said that the government has not issued any red alerts.
“I confirm that no government agency has issued any so-called red alert to Air France and Lufthansa Group (operating as German Airlines) in relation to Miguna’s travel to Kenya,” Dr Kibicho said in an interview on November 19, 2021.
