Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has disclosed that there are plans by the government to arrest him over trumped up charges and lock him up.

The celebrated lawmaker who has a huge following amongst the youths from all over the nation, took to social media where he posted,

“Plans to arrest and fix trumped up charges against me is coming up soon.Please don’t forget to add Msando’s murder,Baby Pendo’s murder and ICC witnesses murder.I also offer to carry ICC’s crimes against humanity.It’s always a pleasure to be a client of the Judiciary.”

The youthful lawmaker has been a key cog in the Azimio La Umoja machinery with Babu Owino gaining traction in national politics and even being touted as a possible successor of Raila Odinga’s political base.

This comes just a day before the much publicized Kibera rally where Azimio party leader Raila Odinga is expected to address his supporters and give them the next course of action. Thus Babu Owino’s  looming arrest can be interpreted as a way to counter the former prime minister’s lieutenants.

Hon Babu Owino made his name since his days as SONU chairman where he was very vocal in his representation of the students. Most of the times his unwavering and resolute nature put him at loggerheads with the government and university administration.

He went on to clinch Embakasi East MP seat and he is now serving his second term. His strength lies in his unmatched charisma and astute mobilization ability.

His supporters have come out to support him with one social media user Sammy Mukaile Wanjala posting “Do not dare arrest Babu Owino, Arresting Babu is like arresting Raila. Only a fool can dare!”
