United back on track after hard-fought win.

Manchester United extended their unbeaten Premier League run on home turf to nine matches thanks to a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, a result which also cemented United’s spot in the top-four .

A Bruno Fernandes strike from the penalty spot early in the first half set the game up for the home team as they dominated possession in the first half.

Midway in the second half, the  on form striker Marcus Rashford slotted into the net a perfect Luke Shaw cross to extend the lead to a more comfortable two goal lead.

It didn’t prove to be such a straightforward task for United to see the game out though, with VAR adjudging Casemiro to have raised his hands at Hughes, and the Brazilian was given his marching orders.

With the absence of the Brazilian, it exposed the midfield and before long the Eagles scored one goal that rejuvenated them to cause problems for the home team. This prompted Ten Hag to make substitutes in a bid to salvage the win.

Sabitzer made his debut to protect the defence line and both Lindelof and Maguire were brought in to strengthen the defense.

Manchester United’s Premier League record when leading at half-time:

◎ 309 games

◎ 286 wins

◎ 23 draws

◉ 0 defeats

Another important win at Old Trafford.
