Barcelona are monitoring the situation of Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Chelsea as they plot a return to the Camp Nou for the 33-year-old.

 

It seemed like an ill-advised transfer from the get-go, Chelsea acquiring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, made even more confusing by the sacking of head coach Thomas Tuchel almost immediately after.

 

The Gabon international has fallen out of favour after a lack of impact at Chelsea since joining from Barcelona in the summer, and it makes sense that his future already seems to be more or less settled.

 

Despite once being a star player and club captain at Arsenal, Aubameyang is clearly no longer at the level he was, and it’s surely best for everyone if his stay at Chelsea is a short one.

 

Aubameyang featured in one LaLiga game for Barca prior to his switch to west London, meaning he can only re-sign for the Blaugrana if he departs Stamford Bridge.
