Interior CS Kithure Kindiki Warns Azimio over Planned Rallies

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has warned Azimio La Umoja party leader Raila Odinga over his planned rallies.

The former Premier has organized a series of rallies in a bid to mount pressure on Ruto to resign as he does not recognize him as president.

Rt Hon Odinga has held three rallies in Nairobi with the first one in Kamkunji grounds, the second one at Jacaranda and then the latest one being in Kibra. He is slated to be in Machakos on Friday before heading to Busia on Sunday.

In all the three rallies, Mr Odinga has maintained that Ruto came to power illegally and that he was aided by the IEBC chairman together with commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu to subvert the will of the people.

“We still maintain that Ruto got into State House by hijacking and subverting the will of the people. He must get out!” he told his latest rally on Sunday at the Kibra.

Mr Kindiki while unveiling his scorecard for the 100 days he has been in office, he warned the Azimio supremo that he will swing to action if there will be any threat to peace due to the rallies.

“I have no business with those who are doing demonstrations; actually I don’t care, on one condition; that they keep law and order. The day they will try to break the law, to breach peace, to incite public disorder, that is the day the full weight of the Ministry of Interior will come on them,” warned Kindiki.
