Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has banned Azimio youth wing unveiled by Raila Odinga at the Kibra rally.

The outfit which had been christened Movement for the Defence of Democracy (MDD) drawing membership from student leaders showed up to the rally clad in military fatigue and vowed to ensure that Raila Odinga gets electoral justice.

CS Kindiki labeled the group a terrorist organization and vowed to deal with its members just the same way they would deal with Al shabaab and any other terrorist group.

The group which came donning camouflage clothing together with maroon berets maintains that Ruto did not win the elections but was aided by a dysfunctional electoral system to subvert the will of the people.

Although the group’s activities were not yet clear, they seem to have caused some discomfort to the Kenya Kwanza government with many calling for the banning of the movement before it spirals into something big. Some were even calling for the arrests of their leadership.

The CS further called on the now banned movement to surrender the military fatigue to the nearest police station and that any civilian found in possession of military regalia will face unspecified consequences.
