Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has disclosed that had former Interior CS Matiang’i listened to him and arrested IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, he would not be going through the tribulations with the police

“If Matiang’i would have heeded to my advice/instructions of arresting Chebukati we would have not gone through these nonsensical games.” The lawmaker posted on social media.

Babu Owino was reacting to the attempted arrest of the former Interior CS yesterday night by Police who could not give reasons for the arrest.

Raila Odinga swiftly went to Mr Matiang’i’s home where he stayed and prevented the arrest. Lawyer Danstan Omari was also there together with other lawyers.

Hon Babu Owino had in the past revealed that he advised Matiang’i and Kibicho to arrest Chebukati as he believed that the IEBC chairman was tampering with results to favor Ruto.

The DCI and Inspector General of police Japheth Kome have since  denied any links with the attempted arest of Mr Matiang’i . The EACC has also distanced themselves from the raid
