No Escape Route for Waititu as he is barred from Job Ruto Gave him

Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is a man under siege as he has been barred from joining the Nairobi Rivers commission.

Mr Waititu  together with other members, had been appointed by President William Ruto back in December 2022 with the aim of reclaiming the Nairobi River and ridding it of rampant pollution.

However, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) had filed a petition challenging the appointment of the former governor to the commission arguing that once an individual is removed from office, they should not be re-elected or appointed for any public office.

The LSK argued that Waititu had been impeached from his position as Kiambu governor and thus was not legible to hold any public office. In addition the petitioners argued that the politician lacked moral aptitude, ethical foundation, and above-reproach integrity that would depict a state office worthy of receiving any commendations from the Head of State

Pamela Olet, Mumo Musuva, Grace Senewa, Eva Muhia, Elizabeth Wathuti, Carlota Dal Lago, Elijah Biama, and Duncan Ojwang had been appointed alongside Waititu.
