Despite former president Uhuru Kenyatta declaring his support for Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga, members of Parliament drawn from his Jubilee party have ignored him and continue working with president Ruto as promised.

EALA MP Kanini Kega, Sirisia MP John Waluke, Adan Keynan, National Chairman Nelson Dzuya, Rachael Nyamai, Jimmy Angwenyi, Naomi shabaan among other leaders were present in Nakuru when President Ruto graced an interdenominational Thanksgiving service.

Speaking in Nakuru, Kanini Kega once again acknowledged that William Ruto is Kenya’s president and that he shall walk with him and support his administration.

“By the mere fact that we are here, it shows that the fifth president of the republic of Kenya is none other than William Samoei Ruto.” The former Kieni MP said amid a thunderous affirmation from the gathered faithful.

“With 34 members in the National Assembly and in the Senate, we will be walking and working with you your Excellency,” Mr Kega said in his speech.

This will intensify the wrangles in the former ruling party even as former president Uhuru remains adamant that those who organized the breakaway will have to leave the party.

The breakaway faction spearheaded by Nominated MP Sabina Chege and EALA MP Kanini Kega had even effected leadership changes in the party with the suspension of Jeremiah Kioni as Party Secretary General and he was replaced by Kanini Kega in acting capacity.

Others affected by the changes were Vice chairman David Murathe and Treasurer Kagwi Gichohi.

Jeremiah Kioni has since dismissed them as busybodies who have no mandate to even speak for the party and that the party is firmly in Azimio.

It remains to be seen which faction will win this internal squabble and control the party for the Sabina -led faction seeks to leave Azimio while the former president and Jeremiah Kioni say they are in Azimio to stay
