Ruto allies warn Azimio leader over vote rigging claims

Leaders allied to President William Ruto have come out to warn the former Prime minister Raila Odinga on what they term as insincere remarks over vote rigging.

The Azimio leader has been having anti government rallies christened ” people’s Baraza” across the nation with the latest slated for today Friday in Kisii county.

Mr Odinga has been on a roll calling President Ruto’s government illegitimate and that he did not win elections. He accuses the former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye to have worked on behalf of Ruto to deny him victory.

The anti government rallies have been held in Nairobi, Machakos, Busia and now headed to Kisii. Mr Odinga aims to pressurize the president to resign even as he calls for a prayer rally in Nairobi’s Jevanjee gardens to pray for IEBC.

President Ruto’s allies led by leader of majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichungwa maintain that Raila is running out of tricks to remain relevant and that is why he seeks to forment instability in the country.

Ichungwa refered to the ongoing expose by the Guardian newspaper about the alleged hacking of IEBC and William Ruto’s allies by an Israeli hacker in a bid to scuttle Ruto’s run for the presidency.

Speaking to the press at Parliament, the lawmaker who was flanked by over 30 Kenya Kwanza MPs urged the government to deal firmly with the opposition leader as he is crying foul when he is the one who admitted to hiring “ethical hackers” to interfere with elections.
