Kalonzo’s Wiper party vows to stay put in Azimio and support People’s Barazas

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has vowed to stay put in the Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance even as reports emerge of Kenya Kwanza preying on the party’s MPs

The former vice president was speaking after a two day retreat in Nakuru with leaders allied to the party. He further disclosed that some MPs drawn from the party were invited to the statehouse but they declined.

“They have openly used public institutions and public resources to entice individual members ‘in the name of development’ to break ranks with the political parties. They have systematically tried to erode the all gains of multiparty democracy under our Constitution 2010 and take this nation back to a one-party state,” Kalonzo said

Mr Musyoka still maintains that the Azimio presidential candidate in the August elections, Raila Odinga won the elections but was rigged through the efforts of Wafula Chebukati.

Kalonzo affirmed that they support the ongoing Azimio rallies christened “people’s Barazas”. The rallies are aimed at pressuring the Kenya Kwanza government to resign.

“We won. Our victory may have been stolen by the IEBC under the direction of Wafula Chebukati and in a compromised Supreme Court but the real court, the people’s court is yet to give its verdict,” Kalonzo alleged

In a statement, pointed out that the government has “systematically tried to erode all the gains of multiparty democracy and take this nation back to a one-party state.”

The party vowed not to “allow this country to retrogress back to the dark days of the one-party state.”

“Despite all their efforts, we remain intact and united. Fellow Kenyans, It is a well known fact that this government has consistently lied to you and still continues to lie to you to date.”
