Ruto and Gachagua Spent 450 million more than budgeted for the year within 7 months

The office of the President together with that of his Deputy has spent 450 million more money than what had been allocated for use within the financial year. This was done in 7 months.

The two highest offices in the land had been allocated 8.64 billion to take them through the year but even before the year ends, both D.r Ruto and M.r Gachagu’s offices have gobbled up 9.09 billion.

This is according to a report published by the Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u. The revelation comes at a time when the government is experiencing a budget deficit and austerity measures were put in place to cut government spending.

In addition, the Treasury CS is requesting for additional funding to the two offices with the Statehouse seeking an additional 5.18 billion, to bring his total budget to 13.83 billion annually.

This is a massive increase compared to the 4.37 billion allocated to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Gachagua’s office on the other hand seeks an additional 914 million to take his annual spending to the tune of 2.63 billion.

The additional expenditure has already been tabled in the House via a supplementary budget under the law that requires MPs to approve spending that lacked a parliamentary nod within two months.
