Raila Odinga’s Role at the AU comes to an end after a 5 year tenure

Raila Odinga’s tenure as African High Representative for Infrastructure Development has come to an end

The Chairperson of the AU Comission, Moussa Faki Mahamat notified Mr. Odinga of the end of his 5 years tenure in the position which he has held since 2018.

Faki thanks Raila for his service saying his contribution to the AU was immense and hopes that Raila will continue supporting the body in other possible assignments.

The Azimio leader has has thanked the body for entrusting him with the responsibility of solving The continent’s infrastructure needs.

The former Premier alluded that in as much as he got considerable support for the duty, some leadership on the continent were not as cooperative as he even blamed forces from outside the continent who wanted the continent to remain underdeveloped.

Mr Odinga also revealed that he had requested to be relieved of his continental duties while on the sidelines of Dakar summit. He requested this as he felt his availability will not be guaranteed for he is focusing on more urgent matters
