President Ruto now goes for Raila and Uhuru’s business empires in a bid to cut them to size

The president seems to have hatched a plot to weaken his political foes where it hurts most, their pockets.

He wants to ensure this by targeting the former Prime Minister’s businesses key among them the Gas cylinder business which he operates under Spectre International, a company that manufactures gas cylinders and its the leading producer in the East African region.

He also targets Uhuru Kenyatta’s milk business, Uhuru is believed to own Brookside company which is the leading player in the milk industry.

Recent shifts in policy such as allowing the Tanzanian tycoon Rostam Aziz to come and set his storage facility in Kenya as a way of reducing Odinga’s influence and market share in the multibillion fuel market.

Ruto’s allies have come out to bash both Azimio leader Raila Odinga and his handshake partner Uhuru Kenyatta over their businesses.

Rigathi Gachagua had said that he shall be dealing with a certain milkman whom he accuses of buying milk cheaply from the farmers and selling the milk at very high prices. This is a reference to Uhuru Kenyatta who owns the Brookeside company that has tentacles both in Kenya and other East African nations.

The new UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala while in Eldoret called out the Former Premier Raila Odinga and his ally Former President Uhuru Kenyatta for what he termed as being insincere with their complaints over the high cost of living.

“Raila Odinga is telling us that the high cost of living is high when he is the sole supplier of gas to the whole nation. If he is indeed sincere, he should bring the cost of gas down and thus bring the cost of living down. Another person is Uhuru Kenyatta who owns all the milk in the country, he too should lower the price of his milk so as to bring the cost of living down.” Malala said while on a campaign rally in Eldoret.

Uhuru Kenyatta has interests in Milk, Banking, construction, hospitality among other businesses. His NCBA bank is the underwriter of Safaricom’s Fuliza overdraft facility and even the launching of Hustler Fund was seen as a way to directly compete with Fuliza so as to run them out of business with Hustler Fund’s lower rates.
