The rowdy youth arrived at the event a few minutes after Chiloba had started addressing the press, when the youths became rowdy and uncontrollable Mr Chiloba had to cut short his speech and rush to his car.

The youths who were drawn from the protestors who had heeded calls for mass action by Raila Odinga, were demonstrating against the high cost of living.

Armed with placards and chanting, the rowdy youth poured into the streets of Kisumu. One of the protestors rallied the crowd to prepare for the Monday, March 20, protests.

“We owe no one an apology. We have a right to picket and therefore we say, Ruto must go. On Monday, March 20, all of us are going to Nairobi and going to tell Ruto to get out of State House,” he stated.

It was reported that the angry and hungry protestors also stormed the catering section of the event and took away all the food.

Some were baying for ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo who was also supposed to grace the event as the chief guest but kept off the event.
