Raila heads to Nakuru as he rounds up his Nationwide rallies in readiness for March 20th

Azimio leader Raila Odinga will be having a rally in Nakuru as the Azimio brigade prepares for a major protest procession in the capital Nairobi.

The Nakuru rally will together with one slated for Friday in Kiambu be the last ones as the opposition and the state prepare for a major showdown which Azimio leader Raila Odinga called it a date with destiny.

This comes just a day after president William Ruto warned the Azimio leader over the demonstrations and that Raila must ensure Kenyans’ safety during the demos.

“We have no problem with you organising demonstrations but please it is your responsibility to work with the police to make sure that the rest of the citizens of Kenya, their lives are not disrupted, their property is not destroyed, and their business is not affected and they can go to work (then) you can carry out your demonstrations,” Ruto said.

“And we must tell my good friend Raila Odinga enough is enough. You cannot continue to blackmail the country,” he added.

The rally is scheduled to be held at Mazembe grounds from 1 PM even as traders asked the Azimio leader to cancel the rally as they dont want any disruption.

“We don’t want any demonstrations in Nakuru, we have just come out of the COVID pandemic and we want to do our businesses peacefully. If Raila wants demonstrations, let him take them outside the country” Said a section of traders in a press briefing.
