ANC and Ford Kenya get crumbs as UDA takes Lion’s share of CAS positions

 

President William Ruto appointed a majority of the Chief Administrative Secretaries drawn from his United Democratic Alliance much to the detriment of his coalition partners.

Key partners like speaker Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya and Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC were given just four and three positions respectively.

Ford Kenya secretary general Chris Wamalwa has been nominated by Ruto as the CAS Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation.

 

Edwin Wandabusi of Ford Kenya was picked as CAS in the Office of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

 

Former West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi was nominated for the CAS post in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

 

Another Ford Kenya member to be appointed is Anab Mohamed was named CAS in the Ministry of Education.

 

As for Mudavadi’s ANC, the immediate former Secretary General Simon Gikuru was named CAS in the Ministry of ICT.Former Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi also of ANC was nominated CAS in the Ministry of Defence.

Former Marsabit ANC gubernatorial aspirant Sunya Orre was nominated for the CAS post in the Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation.

With only three out of the seven appointed from both ANC and Ford Kenya being from the Western region, President Ruto made a balancing act by appointing more from western who are aligned to his UDA party

For instance, in Bungoma, Ruto picked former UDA woman representative aspirant Charity Nancy Kibaba as the CAS in the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action.

Former Vihiga UDA woman representative aspirant Jackline Mwenesi Lukalo was picked as CAS in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
