Commedian Eric Omondi was on Tuesday arrested along Uhuru highway while pulling a cart full of CVs. Mr Omondi’s aim was to head to statehouse and submit the CVs to the president.
He called out the government for abandoning the youth and not creating jobs or a conducive environment for the private sector to create employment.
“I have CVs from 3 million Kenyans who don’t have jobs and am taking them to statehouse so that the president knows there is a problem of unemployment” the comedian said as he pulled his mkokoteni.
The celebrated comedian further asked the president to make true his promises to the hustlers whom he had promised to uplift but they are now suffering
“Mr President William Ruto promised to uplift bodaboda riders and Mama mboga but now everything has gone up, the cost of living is up, the price of fuel is still up together with school fees. The president must hear our problems.” Said the comedian.
He also castigated the president for what he called misplaced priorities like appointing 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries even as the country is not doing well economically.
His statehouse bound journey was cut short when police appeared and bundled him into a police vehicle before being taken to central police station.
Eric Omondi has vowed to continue with his agitation for the government to lower the cost of living which the comedian says it affecting the lives of Kenyans.
Its not the first time the ribcracker is finding himself at loggerheads with the government for protesting over the high cost of living. He was first arrested outside parliament when he took his demonstrations there decrying the high cost of living.
He was also arrested at city stadium where he had gone to distribute relief food to those who were feeling the heat brought about by the high cost of living.
