Leaders allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have come out to distance themselves from from what happened yesterday when a group of youth invaded former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s property in Ruiru and Ruai. Spectre International which is associated with Azimio leader Raila Odinga was also targeted in the invasions.
The unruly youths started subdividing the land amongst themselves even as they seized livestock from the farm. Some even went to the extent of cutting down trees and building temporary mabati structures on the land
According to the farm manager, the former president lost about 70 million from the invasion which saw the youths steal 1400 Dorper sheep with each one estimated to be worth 50,000
Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa had earlier threatened to lead youths into invading the former President’s property due to his alleged role of financing Azimio mass action protests against the government.
The Kikuyu MP has since denied of having planned and executed the plan and blamed it on Azimio leaderhip who wanted to get sympathy out of the ordeal.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei also weighed in on the matter and accused the former president Uhuru and Azimio leader Raila Odinga for orchestrating the attacks on their firms so as to fuel anger amongst their supporters.
He accuses the handshake brothers of doing that so as to incite the public against the government so as to add more fuel to the already ongoing mass protests.
“The attacks against Northlands & E.A spectre intl Co. Ltd were sponsored by Tinga & his sponsor Uhuru for public sympathy addiction with the hope that their barren maandamanos can be jump-started,” he claimed.
The police have since started conducting investigations into the matter even a they are accused of being complacent. Despite the distress calls, police showed up to the scene today morning after a whole 24 hours since the invasion took place.
