Ruto draws a roadmap for Dialogue with Raila as he meets Parliamentary leadership

President William Ruto has today met Parliamentary leadership drawn from both the Senate and the National Assembly so that they plan on how to conduct the bi-partisan approach in dealing with Raila Odinga’s grievances.

This came just hours after the Azimio leader extended an olive branch to his nemesis and agreed to call off the mass action demonstrations that had been taking place on Mondays and Thursdays.

Earlier, the president had asked the opposition leader to give dialogue a chance and suspend the demonstrations as they work on a bipartisan approach to solve the issues raised by the Azimio brigade.

Dr Ruto met the Parliamentary team led by both Majority Leaders Kimani Ichungwa and Aaron Cheruiyot

“We have asked the Parliamentary leadership of both Houses to consider our proposal for a bipartisan approach to addressing the matters raised by the Opposition as a priority,” Read part of his statement.

“We are convinced the issues shall be conclusively handled by Parliament in order to allow us to focus on our economic transformation programe.” He added

It remains to be seen whether the ceasefire will bear fruits as the Azimio leader also came with his demands which he warned that they must be met within one week or else he resumes the protests against Ruto’s government.
