On Thursday, Kenyan authorities took into custody Brian Mwenda, an imposter who deceitfully posed as a legal professional, falsely claiming to be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Reports suggest that Mwenda had engaged in 26 legal cases before High Court Judges, Magistrates, and Court of Appeal Judges prior to his arrest, and remarkably, he emerged victorious in all of them.
The Law Society of Kenya Nairobi Branch Rapid Action Team (RAT) apprehended this impersonator due to his fraudulent misrepresentation.
RAT acted upon receiving public complaints about his deceptive conduct.
As per records from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), he is not a legitimate lawyer and lacks the necessary license to practice law in Kenya.
In an official statement, it was clarified that Brian was neither recognized as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya nor a member of the LSK Nairobi Branch.
“It has been brought to the attention of the LSK Nairobi Branch through the Rapid Action Team (RAT), that the pictured person has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch,” read the notice in part.
He is currently detained at the headquarters of the Rapid Action Team (RAT) while awaiting further inquiry.
Simultaneously, videos have emerged on the internet showing Brian acting as legal counsel for a former Mungiki leader during a televised courtroom session
