Social commentator Andrew Kibe has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the prestigious title of “Africa Social Media Star of the Year.” As part of his celebration and interaction with his fan base, Kibe is planning to return to Kenya in December, where he will host a special meet and greet event. During this event, enthusiastic fans will have the opportunity to meet Kibe in person, and for this privilege, they are expected to pay a fee of Sh20,000.

Kibe’s initial announcement of this meet and greet event, which he humorously termed the “Andrew Kibe graduation,” was made in September. At the time, he had set a goal of selling 300 tickets for the event. However, due to the overwhelming response from his supporters, he has decided to increase the ticket count to 2,000 to accommodate the high demand.
In a noteworthy turn of events, Kibe faced a suspension of his YouTube account in September, which had a significant impact as it resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of followers. Kibe expressed his discontent with this suspension, contending that he had not received any email notifications regarding any violations that would justify the termination of his account.
Google Africa’s Head of Communications, Dorothy Ooko, provided clarification regarding the suspension, stating that Kibe’s account was terminated due to violations of YouTube’s terms of service.
Despite this temporary setback, Kibe remains resolute in moving forward with his scheduled meet and greet event in Kenya. His enduring popularity is evident, and his loyal fan base is eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to meet him in person.
