Thank you SPOTIFY for being incredible!”
Spotify has collaborated with COLORSxSTUDIOS to shine a spotlight on the melodic sounds of Kenyan R&B with a series of six exclusive performances under ‘A Colors Show.’
The initial artist to make an appearance on the COLORS stage was the gifted singer-songwriter Lisa Oduor-Noah, who captivated the audience with her rendition of “For Keeps,” a song she composed in 2017.
Following Lisa’s enchanting performance, Xenia Manasseh, a singer-songwriter and a Spotify RADAR artist, graced the stage with her airy vocals and skillful lyrics.
Former Camp Mullah member Karun was also featured, performing ‘Only You,’ a tribute to a past love.
“I hope to keep discovering who I am and just being fiercely myself in whatever medium that is, and so music is what I’m doing right now, and I hope it kind of just gets a bit more powerful,” said Karun on her future ambitions.
Monica Kemoli-Savanne, who holds the role of Artist & Label Partnerships Manager for Spotify in East Africa, shared her enthusiasm for making these partnerships a reality, expressing: “This is the first time that any Kenyan artist is performing on A COLORS SHOW, and we are honored to have been able to make this collaboration a reality. Our mission of elevating African artists to global stages continues, and we cannot wait for audiences all around the world to discover the amazing R&B talent that Kenya has to offer.”
The partnership between Spotify and COLORSxSTUDIOS is set to acquaint worldwide audiences with Kenya’s diverse and lively music scene.
