Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, has firmly asserted that financial incentives will not influence Kenya to alter its position on LGBTQ+ matters. Pastor Dorcas emphasized that the religious texts, societal norms, and legal framework all align in their disapproval of same-sex marriage and relationships.

“It is so unfortunate that many of us today are afraid to say the truth. When it comes to matters of LGBTQ we must say what the bible says. We cannot not and we must not move from that stand,” she said.
“No matter how much money will be used, we must stand by that truth. Male and female God created, he blessed both and gave them the inheritance to go and multiply, increase and have dominion, no other way.”
Pastor Dorcas urged the church to unite in condemning the wrongdoing without being afraid of pressure or coercion. She stressed that all religious figures in the nation should proclaim the authentic message of their faith.
“There is nowhere in the history where Christians, Hindus, Muslims and traditional leaders ever came to a place of convergence and agreed on something, but on this one, they have all agreed with the law and constitution of Kenya that it is male and female.”
Pastor Dorcas stated that her Christian faith firmly anchors her position in not supporting LGBTQ+ issues.
President William Ruto and his Deputy have previously expressed that the nation will not permit LGBTQ+ matters.
Nyandarua Deputy Governor Mathara Mwangi commended Pastor Dorcas for her efforts in advocating for the well-being of boys and combatting alcoholism, acknowledging that these endeavors have yielded positive results, not only in Nyandarua but also nationwide.
She delivered these remarks on Monday in Nyandarua during the funeral of Beatrice Gachengoh, the wife of Apostle Stephen Gachengoh.
Numerous religious leaders stood in solidarity with the Gachengoh family in bidding farewell to his wife, who was celebrated for her love, steadfast faith, selflessness, and friendliness.
