Burna Boy to hire 100 lawyers to sue Nigerian Bloggers

Burna Boy, the Afrobeat artist who has won a Grammy, expressed his intention to employ a hundred legal professionals for legal action against Nigerian bloggers. He conveyed this message through his X (previously Twitter) account on Wednesday, revealing his frustration with the situation.

While using Nigerian pidgin, he wrote, “Dat money wey I wan give dem instablog dat time, e be like say na to give like 100 lawyers now. But I know say na hustle everybody dey hustle so e go pain me if I run dat kind tin. Why una dey push me na?”
Nearly a fortnight later, Burna Boy, the singer of “I Told Them,” extended an offer to provide funds to Nigerian bloggers, requesting them to refrain from covering news about him. He emphasized that while he had never compensated any media outlet for promoting his brand, he was willing to consider it to avoid any publicity altogether.
“How far. All these Instablog, PulseNg e.t.c abeg make all of una do meeting then decide how much I go give all of una make una forget my name totally. I know say I never pay any of una before so I say make I just run am finally. I greet you, bros!” he tweeted on November 3.
Burna Boy inquired, addressing platforms like Instablog and PulseNg, urging them to convene a meeting to collectively determine the amount he should offer to make them all cease mentioning his name entirely. Acknowledging that he had never compensated any of them previously, he decided to settle the matter once and for all with a friendly greeting, saying, “I greet you, bros!” in a tweet on November 3.
He said, “If I had access to my account, everywhere would be shaking every day. The ground will be elevated based on my feelings and I don’t like disrespect.
“They always try to disrespect me on the internet. So, my team didn’t let me at them. If not, then the ground will elevate. I will spend too much time there; honestly, I will spend a lot of time there.”
The widely recognized African Giant, Burna Boy, has clinched nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards in four distinct categories. These include Best African Music Performance, Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Global Music Album, and Best Global Music Performance.
